Closely related to the Ogham Queirt, representing the apple tree. There is also an association with the Gothic character Quertra.
Ritual cleansing by fire, the sacred hearth, transformation through fire, the funeral pyre, the festival bonfire of celebration and joy. This rune is the opposite to the binding power of the rune Nyd which represents the need-fire.
